🎯Project Objectives

To improve regional network engineering knowledge by training NREN participants in perfSONAR and FIONette deployment and performance diagnostics, creating a more resilient and collaborative digital infrastructure for research and education in Southeast Asia.

• 3-day technical workshop hosted at NUOL in Vientiane
• Comprehensive training on perfSONAR and FIONette DTN tools
• Equipment distribution to participating countries
• Performance diagnostics and Science DMZ setup guidance

• Up to 17 participants from 5 countries successfully trained
• Hardware distributed for immediate deployment
• Workshop content and training tools made publicly available

🛠️Technical Tools

Participants gained hands-on experience with industry-standard tools including perfSONAR for network performance monitoring and FIONette Data Transfer Nodes (DTNs) for optimizing high-performance data transfers across research networks.
